The a-desmosomes test is used to diagnose autoimmune diseases that affect desmosomes, structures that connect cells in epithelial tissues. This test detects antibodies against desmosomal proteins, which are associated with certain autoimmune disorders, such as pemphigus vulgaris. The test helps confirm the diagnosis and assess the severity of the disease.
