Product detailed description
The ASLO (antistreptolysin O) test is a laboratory test used to detect the presence of antibodies against streptolysin O, an enzyme produced by certain types of streptococcal bacteria, such as Streptococcus pyogenes. This test is used to diagnose past or current infections caused by these bacteria, such as strep throat, scarlet fever, and rheumatic fever. Elevated ASLO levels in the blood may indicate a recent streptococcal infection. A blood sample is usually drawn from a vein, and the results can help the doctor decide on the appropriate treatment, especially when rheumatic diseases are suspected.
