The DNase B test (anti-DNase B test) is used to detect antibodies against the enzyme deoxyribonuclease B, which is produced by group A streptococci (Streptococcus pyogenes). It is used for the diagnosis and monitoring of late complications of streptococcal infections, such as rheumatic fever or post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis. Elevated antibody levels indicate a recent or ongoing streptococcal infection.
