The human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) blood test is a laboratory test thatmeasures the concentration of HCG in the bloodstream.

HCG is a hormone produced after the fertilization of an egg and its implantation into the uterine lining, which usually occurs in the early stages of pregnancy. In addition, HCG can be produced by some types of tumors.

The HCG blood test is a reliable way to confirm pregnancy and can provide accurate results as early as 7-12 days after fertilization.

High levels of hCG may indicate the presence of certain types of tumors, such as trophoblastic, some testicular and ovarian tumors.</p

Women and men in the diagnosis and follow-up of certain cancers
