    Checking homocysteine

    A homocysteine blood test is a laboratory test that measures the level of the amino acid homocysteine in the blood.

    Elevated levels of homocysteine may be associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, Alzheimer's disease, and other health conditions.

    The test may be performed if the patient has a high risk of cardiovascular disease or if genetic abnormalities affecting homocysteine metabolism are suspected.</p

    Did you know that homocysteine levels can be effectively regulated through a diet rich in folate and vitamins B6 and B12?

    What does the results report contain?
