This laboratory test detects the following pathogens:

  • Chlamydia Trachomatis (CT): A bacterium that causes chlamydia, leading to infertility and pelvic inflammatory disease.
  • Neisseria Gonorrhoeae (NG): The causative agent of gonorrhea, an infection of the genital tract that can cause serious health issues.
  • Trichomonas Vaginalis (TV): A parasite that causes trichomoniasis, often asymptomatic, but can lead to irritation and inflammation.
  • Mycoplasma Hominis (MH): A bacterium associated with urinary and genital tract infections.
  • Mycoplasma Genitalium (MG): A bacterium that causes urinary and genital infections, potentially leading to pelvic inflammatory disease and infertility.
